Patrick Kane is no longer a Blackhawk, but his legacy and time in Chicago will never be forgotten. Kane put on many spectacular performances at the United Center, but his second to last game in Chicago felt bigger than the rest.
Kane was able to record a hat trick in an impressive showing on home ice. Kane torched the Maple Leafs to the tune of three goals and an assist in a 5 shot performance that began the Hawks season high five game winning streak.
The Blackhawks fans turned out in season high amounts for what would come to be Kane's final homestand at the United Center. It's performances like the one Kane put on that continued to bring Hawks fans to the games even though the team's on ice success has waivered significantly over the last few seasons. Kane sparked the Hawks and the fans brought the heat. It sounded like the Hawks cup runs again, bringing back the memories of the good days.
Kane received first star of the game honors and did a quick lap to a thunderous ovation from the Blackhawks faithful. It was nights like this that made Chicago fans fall back in love with hockey and the Blackhawks. Kane will be missed, but at least showtime went out in style.
