«It's just a highly competitive athlete that's at the top of his game that wants to win,» Richardson said. «I think he just was trying to push maybe a little too hard in the wrong areas at the beginning of the year and got off his game a little bit. He's just really recognizing that, and dialing back and playing defense, being a good, solid defenseman. It took some time. Now he's creating offensively at the right times without being risky defensively. He's a quiet leader in the room and on the bench, and I think he's settled into what he is and what he means to this team. The All-Star selection was warranted and I think he really took it to heart. He played great there and he's played great ever since.»
