Max Domi and Andreas Anthanasiou were the two major additions by the Chicago Blackhawks and have excelled on the teams top line, with Patrick Kane on the wing. Jack Johnson is a honourable mention as well to the Blackhawks top additions of the offseason, who is coming off a Stanley Cup win with the Colorado Avalanche.
Everybody expected Kyle Davidsons signings to be rentals, including Max Domi, Andreas Anthanasiou and Jack Johnson, to be used short-term by the Blackhawks in hopes to flip them at the trade deadline to cup contenders... but who else is on the chop block for the Chicago Blackhawks?
Severals players have expiring contracts, those severals players are aging quickly, and if a 24 year old Alex DeBrincat was not deemed a good fit for the Blackhawks multi-year rebuild, these names sure seem not to be as well.
Expiring contracts, and those who will likely be out the door:
Alex Stalock - Goaltender. Stalock was signed to a one-year deal, in hopes to be a rental until the Blackhawks rookie netminder Arvid Soderblom excels his game with the Rockford Ice Hogs.
Jarred Tinordi - Defensemen. Another rental signing by the Blackhawks, and much like goaltender Alex Stalock, Tinordi is a veteran to fill a roster spot until the Blackhawks prospects can be developed well enough for a full-time NHL role.
Jujhar Khaira - Forward. Khaira has spent nearly three years with the Blackhawks organization and has yet to reach the 40-game mark, due to injuries. Khaira has been healthy scratched this season by head coach Luke Richardson, and with his contract due after this year, do not expect him to return to the Hawks.
