So far this season, Kirby Dach has two goals and 7 assists in 11 games for the Habs. It's still early, but Dach is on pace to have a 50-point season. In recent games, Martin St-Louis has used Dach on the wing with center Nick Suzuki and winger Cole Caufield. The Saskatchewan native is slowly gaining the confidence of his coach, and that's a good thing. He has shown that he works well with Montreal's two young stars.
Since the beginning of the season, he has proven on many occasions that he's a great passer with an elite vision. He makes passes that few players are capable of. Dach is a good skater and already one of the most mobile players on the Habs' team. He also uses his body well and is hard to separate from the puck.
On the power play, Dach is extremely useful for MTL. He is strong in zone entry and impresses with his mobility with the puck when he is on the move. Surprisingly, Dach is very physically involved and does not hesitate to protect his teammates and get into fights.
Habs fans are trying not to get too excited about Dach. With what he has shown in the first eleven games, many wonder why Chicago decided to trade him. He needs to continue to perform well to convince fans that he's the real deal. Dach is only 21 years old, and people tend to forget that. He still has plenty of time to develop, and what he's showing right now is very promising.
Here are his two goals with Montreal so far:
