The personality has always overshadowed the player that is PK Subban when he was in the NHL, playing for a variety of teams. During his time as a player, there would always be several media releases about antics that he would pull off or things he would say that often rubbed people the wrong way.
Now, in full retirement and working as a television analyst during the playoffs last year, Subban made a statement on the X platform regarding budding superstar Connor Bedard. His statement was simple:
Of course, he did not elaborate on why he feels that Connor Bedard is overrated, but this tweet certainly garnered a lot of attention, with over 1.1 million views.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion; however, I feel that Connor Bedard is exactly what he will be once he settles into the NHL.
His hockey IQ and skill set alone are off the charts, and he will likely become the next face of the NHL, possibly winning a Hart Trophy within the next five years.
We will have to wait and see what Subban has in store for this year in terms of what he'll say and what he believes in.
