Brad Marchand roughs up Connor Bedard in first NHL game
In a recent interview, Brad Marchand was asked about his thoughts on Connor Bedard, and he didn't mince his words.
Prior to yesterday's game, Marchand was questioned about any advice he might have for Connor Bedard, who, like Marchand, isn't the biggest player in the NHL. Marchand's response was classic.
"I'm bigger than him,
" Marchand remarked about Connor Bedard.
In reality, the two are pretty similar in size, with Bedard having a slight edge in height (just an inch) and weight (9 pounds more) according to the stats.
While Connor Bedard's real initiation into the NHL involved a faceoff against the legendary Sidney Crosby, he also received a rather unconventional welcome courtesy of Brad Marchand during their recent game.
Marchand, in his usual fashion, tried to get under Bedard's skin by guiding him over to the Bruins' bench and almost hooking him in.
Although Bedard did manage to score his first NHL goal against Marchand and the Bruins, the Bruins had the last laugh, securing a 3-1 victory.
