There were only 5 games last night around the NHL, including a crazy comeback attempt by the Dallas Stars against the Minnesota Wild.

The Winnipeg Jets defeated the Anaheim Ducks on home ice with a score of 5-2. The Ducks jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but the Jets went on a to score 5 unanswered goals to complete the comeback. Morgan Barron scored the decisive goal that broke the deadlock with a wrist shot 14:23 into the 3rd period.

The Minnesota Wild defeated the Dallas Stars 6-5 in a shootout after the Stars erased a 5-1 deficit early in the third period. Jason Robertson continued his hot streak with his 23rd goal of the season at the 7:50 mark of the 3rd period. Frederick Gaudreau won the game for the Wild in the shootout.

The Detroit Red Wings defeated the Blue Jackets in Columbus 4-2. The Jackets attempted to comeback in this one, scoring 2 straight goals to bring the score to 3-2. Andrew Copp scored his 3rd goal of the season at the 6:08 mark of the 3rd period to put the game out of reach.

The Buffalo Sabres defeated the Sharks 6-3 on home ice. Oskar Lindblom scored his 1st goal of the season for San Jose to bring the score to 5-3, but the Sharks couldn't find anything else offensively to get back in this one. Alex Tuch scored his 12th goal of the season on an empty netter to put the game out of reach.

The New York Islanders defeated the Chicago Blackhawks on home ice to finish off the night. The Blackhawks only managed to put 21 shots on goal in a miserable offensive performance. Matt Martin scored the opening goal for the Islanders and that proved to be all that was needed to put away Chicago tonight. Semyon Varlamov posted the shutout for the Islanders.

There are six games tomorrow night, highlighted by the Boston Bruins and Vegas Golden Knights. Check back tomorrow for more results and highlights!
