NHL intermissions are boring. There is no beating around the bush.

It just tunes you out from the game, in fact it makes you want to tune off. Once the intermission is over, there is times where you forget about tuning back on and you miss the rest of the game. NHL marketing in general has been awful these past few years as well.

So why are they boring? Let's take a look at NBA on TNT. They have Shaquille O'Neal, 4-time NBA Champion, and 2-time Finals MVP, Kenny Smith, 2-time NBA Champion, and Charles the God Barkley. That's a crew, and it's entertaining. Shaq and Charles, two legends and who built the game to what it is today, argue how the game should be played.

And when they argue, it's hilarious. People who aren't NBA fans can tune in and enjoy it. When you look at NHL intermissions, they have no former players. Instead, they have people who no one knows, and they just grab things out of thin air and put it into a sentence. It's boring, and just hard to watch. Non-NHL fans aren't going to watch that. The only people remotely entertaining they have are Keith Yandle and Kevin Biaska.

If the NHL can get former players who are entertaining and actually know what they're talking about, they'll draw more views and will be good for everyone at the end of the day.
