The Chicago Blackhawks are in for a tough next few years, after Kyle Davidson announced a full rebuild will be taking place a lot of questionable moves were made that disrupted the fan base. 23 year old Brandon Hagel did not fit general manager Kyle Davidsons rebuild plans, neither did 25 year old Dylan Strome and 24 year old Alex DeBrincat..

It appears that DeBrincat was traded as the Blackhawks did not want to pull the trigger on a lengthy expesive contract as DeBrincat has performed amazing and his current contract was set to expire. Blackhawks fans can prepare themselves for the same feeling when it's Kane's turn at a new contract, which is just one season away

Next year Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews will both be free agents, Blackhawks general manger has stated he will be doing a full retooling rebuild properly and isn't willing to take on any big contracts which seems like Kane is out the door- it is surely Kane's choice as well as he's a unrestricted free agent and is able to choose his next destination himself, why would he want to stay in Chicago? Both Kane and Toews are near there last ride of their NHL careers and would love to see some playoff hockey, which will not come in a rebuilding team.

The New York Rangers and Colorado Avalanche have inquired about Kane at this years trade deadline, but a new team is in on the Patrick Kane talks and it's the Edmonton Oilers who inquired during the free agency frenzy, but the Blackhawks kindly declined.

The Edmonton Oilers sit at +300 odds to acquire Kane, the Colorado Avalanche are right behind them at +350 and the New York Rangers with Kane's best Buddy Artemi Panarin ranks third to acquire Kane at +400 odds.
