This Dallas Stars Issue May Be A Solution For The Blackhawks
Ryan Suter has had a lengthy NHL career, playing for the Nashville Predators, Minnesota Wild, and Dallas Stars.
He reached the Stanley Cup Finals in 2020 with the Dallas Stars in the bubble.
However, it seems that Suter has become a liability on the blue line for the Dallas Stars, and they may be looking to move on from him.
Friedman on Ryan Suter/Stars (32TP): «If you take a look at his contract, to buy it out it's not expensive. It's 4 more years and it's just under $800k for the first 2 years and about $1.5M for the last 2 years. I wonder if they think about it
If Suter is bought out for the second time, he would be a valuable addition to the Blackhawks' blueline as a veteran presence.
The buyout would cost $1.6 million for the first two years, with an $800K AAV and a $1.5 million AAV on the backend. The Blackhawks could potentially acquire Suter at a league-minimum price.
