DeBrincat is currently 24 years of age and his contract is expiring shortly, the Blackhawks planning a full rebuild that could nearly take 3-5 years/season long, and Alex DeBrincat won't be around for the ride.
NHL insider Frank Servalli has revealed DeBrincat will be traded, and it is the matter of WHEN he will be traded, not if! Meaning he'll be dealt at Thursday's NHL entry draft on July 7, or before next season is over.
Multiple teams have persuaded heavy offers for Alex DeBrincat says NHL insider Elliot Friedman, but who is attempting to go all in? It seems as if the Philadelphia Flyers unloaded a heavy offer for the back-to-back 40 goal scorer Alex DeBrincat, and Blackhawks fans should keep there head high and think of the insane value they will be receiving in exchange.
The NHL entry draft takes place on July 7th 7pm EST, deals will be announced live on television.
The front runner seems to be the New Jersey Devils, and fans have came up with a mock trade that would leave Chicago a true winner if it were to happen.
Devils receive:
Alex DeBrincat
3rd round pick
Blackhawks Receive:
Dawson Mercer
Alexander Holtz
2nd overall pick in this years draft
Some may think, can the Hawks really get this much for Alex DeBrincat? Well theoretically speaking, yes. Blackhawks general manager has fleeced the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Brandon Hagel trade, receive two first round picks, Taylor Raddysh and Boris Katchouk.
NHL insider Elliot Friedman revealed that if a team successfully trades for DeBrincat, it will truly take a large dent out of there franchise.
Raddysh alone finished with a better end season than Hagel, and Hagel was on a stacked Tampa team when Raddysh was only raking in 3rd line minutes in Chicago.
