News broke a couple days ago that the Philadelphia Flyers traded for Tony DeAngelo, aside from DeAngelo's off ice issues he seems to be a proven consistent high-caliber defenseman. In the 2019-2020 season DeAngelo combined for a impressive 53 points in 68 games played, in his most recent season with the Carolina Hurricanes he also had quite the season, registering 51 points in 64 games played.

As mentioned, if his off-ice issues can not play a factor in Philadelphia it will all be well. Sadly it seems as something along those lines has already started and Hurricanes fans are furious! In a interview with a Philadelphia Flyers talk show Tony DeAngelo revealed that Flyers forward Kevin Hayes convinced him to take the leap of a trade and to leave Carolina, well that sure happened- and if you are not aware it is considered player tampering as each player has signed a agreement not to do so.

Tony DeAngelo was also questioned on the podcast ''Now that you are with the Flyers and Kevin Hayes will you two be looking to do some more recruiting to possibly land a free agent that you guys both know'' (referencing Johhny Gaudreau). DeAngelo responded with saying ''that's a absolute yes''.

Gaudreau than declined a $10 million dollar contract in Calgary so that he can play closer to home, home being just on the outskirts of Philadelphia where he was born and raised. Not the smartest look for Tony DeAngelos first two days in Philly...
