The New York Rangers have had quite the start to the season with a 23-12-7 record. They are currently third in the Metropolitan Division and are 4 points out of first place. However, in Thursday night's game against the Dallas Stars, two Rangers collided in one of the most brutal hits of the season.
Sammy Blais had his eye on the puck and when he lifted his head it was too late. He ran full speed into teammate Julien Gauthier late in the first period. Both players stayed down for an extended time and went to the locker room for further evaluation. Tonight is not a night the Rangers will want to remember.
