Two Professional Players Charged With Sexual Assault & The League Took no Action
Rick Westhead hockey reporter reported early this morning that the QMJHL President Gilles Courteau & league's insurer may be asked during testimony next Wed. about Victoriaville players Nicholas Daigle & Massimo Siciliano, who are charged w/
sexually assaulting a woman in a hotel in June 2021. Players' next court date is Aug. 4th 2023.
Both players are draft eligible for the NHL and also eligible to be signed to a NHL team, Daigle is 19 years of age and Massimo is 19 years old as well.
The two players were arrested, and just moments later were allowed to participate in training camp and even played pre-season games. Daigle was given a addition charge for recording the sexual assault and sharing the video around.
There respective teams, the Victoriaville Tigers released a statement after the arrests were made in 2021.
"The organization is currently in close contact with the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in order to know more about
the details of the accusations and the status of the players in the league," the Tigres said
in a statement released Tuesday.
"The Victoriaville Tigres are taking these accusations very seriously and will continue to collaborate with authorities in this matter."
