Bryan Bickell was a Blackhawks player that started the original core for their early 2010s dynasty run. Bickell spent 9 seasons with the Blackhawks and was a factor in winning the 2010, 2013, 2015 cups. Remember 17 seconds in game 6 of the 2013 Stanley cup final? It's safe to say that play never would've happened without Bryan Bickell. Bickell was not a big point producer as he only totaled 135 points, but he was a big forward that could get in on the forecheck and smash some opposing players into the boards. Bickell would get traded to the Carolina Hurricanes where he would only play 11 games for them in the 2016-17 season due to his diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis.
Since his retirement, Bryan Bickell has kept to himself. Bickell was always known for being family oriented, and that is still the case today. Bickell is not very active on social media, but from time to time he posts pictures of his family. Not only does he enjoy his time with family, but he also spends a good amount of time out on the water fishing. He even is a proud owner of two adorable pit bulls.
Post retirement, Bryan Bickell created the Bickell Foundation. (https://www.bickellfoundation.org/usa-canada) The Bickell Foundation focuses on not only MS, but pit-bulls as well. Pit-bulls have a negative association tied to them and Bryan and Amanda Bickell are trying to correct the negative light. Their pit-bull, Bailey, is a member of their family and has been a positive part of their lives. In addition to MS and pit-bulls, the Bickell family has seen family members that have been victims of child abuse. With all this being said, the Bickell Foundation's goal is to help those who can't help themselves. You can donate, or from time to time, the foundation hosts charity events such as golfing or meet and greets.
Since his retirement, it looks Bickell has enjoyed his lowkey lifestyle and is making every second count with his family and out on the lake. Fans to this day miss big hearted Bryan Bickell.
