Alex Vlasic is an interesting case. Big body defensemen with wheels are few and far between on the Chicago roster today. However, Derek King seems unwilling to play him in a top 4 role. His time on ice reads 7:00 against Tampa, 7:54 against Winnipeg, and 6:10 in a tilt with Minnesota. Otherwise he's been a healthy scratch. His introduction to pro level hockey may be better off in Rockford, where he can play closer to 14-17 minutes a night and adjust to the new speed away from Hockey East. Before long, I do believe Vlasic will be placed down to develop, and have a case to make the new look team next season.
