One of the key hosts of the Parkins and Spiegel show will be leaving the radio show on 670 The Score, for Fox Sports One.
Ironically, wouldn't be funny is the Bears make it to the Superbowl with Caleb Williams, the Cubs find new life and win the World Series again and the White Sox not lose 120 games, with this news.
Is Chicago free of the "Parkins Curse"?
The radio host had confirmed Tuesday as it was reported in the Sun-Times he would be leaving his afternoon-based radio show. There's no official word of where he's heading, but it is on Fox Sports One.
He will be relocating to New York from Chicago, with his new FS1 gig and Tuesday's show was themed "New York, New York" with Dak Prescott and the Cowboys being key themes during part of the broadcast.
FS1 announced on Wednesday, its new sports-talk schedule with 37-year-old Parkins, co-hosting a three-man show, five days a week in the morning.
Parkins originally left Kansas City for 670 the Score originally hosting with Matt Spiegel in 2018 during the weekdays, then paired with Doug McNeil until he was fired. Then in 2021, they would pair Parkins and Spiegel again.
Parkins is known for his wacky personality, which has plenty of humor, and the four-man show has found its niche among fans, keeping topics fresh. He has never been satisfied after reaching his goal of hosting The Score's afternoon drive show.
He's hosted multiple shows with Andrew Filliponi about the NFL on Audacy and hosted a show for the Cubs TV Show on Marquee Sports Network.
Not to mention, he's the author of a book that details the influence of Division III on the NBA.
Parkins has worked diligently to get where he is now and will remain humble when he starts his new opportunity.
Parkins arrived in January 2017 and since then no Chicago sports team has won anything since the Cubs won the series in 2016.
With his exit will the "curse" end finally?
