"As the Chicago Blackhawks had to trim their roster down for today's 5PM EST deadline, general manager Stan Bowman had to take a chance. He placed defenseman Carl Dahlstrom on waivers hoping that he would clear to Rockford. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports that the Winnipeg Jets have claimed Dahlstrom off waivers. The 24 year old split last season between the Hawks and the Rockford IceHogs and registering six assists during his time in Chicago. This is probably a sign the Jets still aren't sure about Dustin Byfuglien's future.
