BREAKING: Five NHL players get waived by their organization and are available
In a surprising move, the Edmonton Oilers have put veteran forward Sam Gagner on waivers. Despite his experience, the 34-year-old has struggled this season, scoring only five goals and 10 points in 27 games with the Oilers.
This is Gagner's third time with the team, but it seems he hasn't performed as expected this time around. If he clears waivers, he'll likely be sent to the Oilers' AHL team, the Bakersfield Condors.
But Gagner isn't the only one on waivers today. It's been a busy day in the NHL, with four other players also on waivers, mostly from Western Conference teams.
With several notable names on waivers, there's speculation about possible moves in the next few days with the Mach 8th trade deadline approaching. As teams prepare for the trade deadline, there could be more action on the waiver wire soon.
Hockey fans will be watching closely for updates as teams make roster changes before the deadline. Stay tuned for more news as it happens.
