His contract was nullified on Nov. 29, after an internal investigation found that Perry had "engaged in conduct that breaches the terms of his standard players' contract and the Blackhawks' internal policies designed to promote a professional and safe work environment.»
Perry had a meeting with commissioner Gary Bettman in early January and then joined the Edmonton team on Jan. 22 without filing a grievance.
