Chicago sports fans furious following Bulls' blockbuster trade of Alex Caruso
The Chicago Bulls have made a one-for-one trade today, as they sent Alex Caruso to Oklahoma City for Josh Giddey.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the trade is confirmed, and the deal sends Bulls fan favorite Caruso out West.
Caruso was considered one of the league's defenders, and has earned defensive player of the year votes and All-Defensive nods the past two seasons.
BREAKING: The Chicago Bulls are trading two-time All-Defensive guard Alex Caruso to the Oklahoma City Thunder for guard Josh Giddey, sources tell ESPN.
Which doesn't bode well for the Bulls defensive capabilities, not to mention the fact he is a useful roleplayer as a reliable 3-point shooter for the former NBA Champions.
Caruso will be a UFA at the end of the season, if he doesn't sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder his current contract is $9.89 Million, and is eligible for an extension come July.
It has caused fans to be angry with Jerry Reinsdorf and Bulls management, as they moved one of their best players.
Alex Caruso 1 for 1 for Josh Giddey is genuinely one of the most inexcusably stupid trades I've seen in a long time
Compared to Giddey who supposedly has upside, but hasn't be up to the show he put on in 2022-2023, averaging 16.6 points per game, 7.9 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game.
Giddey was also the subject of investigations by the NBA and local police due to allegations that he engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a minor, but both the league and police closed their investigations due to a lack of corroborating evidence.
