The Chicago Blackhawks are back in action tonight against Boston after playing in Minnesota last night. It was a tough loss for the Hawks last night which keeps them just outside the playoff picture but they're still at the door knocking to get in. The next couple of weeks will decide if the Blackhawks will be buyers or sellers at the deadline and if they're in the race, they could sign a free agent. With the Winnipeg Jets and Dustin Byfuglien about to mutually agree to terminate his contract, Byfuglien will be UFA. NHL insider Elliotte Friedman points out the connection between the Hawks and Byfuglien in his latest "31 Thoughts" article. He mentions the Blackhawks at the top of the list as potential suitors for Byfuglien if he chooses to return. Byfuglien playing in a lesser role could be very valuable to the Hawks in the playoffs and make a huge difference, however he has yet to start skating again so he might wait until next year to decide his future. Would you like to see Byfuglien join the Hawks for the stretch run?
