Former Blackhawks forward Corey Perry's playoffs are going according to plan, and it appears that the Oilers are taking another low blow to the veteran as they refused to put him in the lineup.

Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch has made it clear that he feels that there are other players within his teams depth that are continuing to outshine Perry as he has taken a step back in production and speed.

Knoblauch has gone to players like Sam Carrick who have been helpful on the Oilers 4th line as the team looks to match the Dallas Stars depth. It appears that Perry is all but certain not to enter the lineup in this series now that Adam Henrique, the player acquired from Anaheim during the trade deadline will enter either game three or game four.

Perry's season has not gone well as he was terminated from the Blackhawks after it was determined that he did not follow the code of conduct by the organization at a party during the Christmas break. Having signed a contract of
$4 million, the Blackhawks felt it was time to move on and Perry parted ways.

The 39-year-old had played ten games in this playoff, and he has amassed no points and is a - 3.

With Carrick and Henrique in the Oilers depths and the team playing well against the Stars, it's likely that Perry will remain in the press box until the Oilers season is over.

Having brought him in for playoff experience and help in the dressing room appears to have failed as father time has reached Perry physically.
