Jonathan Toews' NHL Return Now Linked to Three Surprising Teams
Former Chicago Blackhawks Captain, Jonathan Toews, is an unrestricted free agent and we have insight on which three teams make the most sense for him right now.
Jonathan Toews, the former Chicago Blackhawk who served as the teams captain from 2008-2023 admits he is open to returning to the NHL.
Toews is one of the most notable captains in NHL history and is claimed to be one of the best two-way centers. These factors leave us curious as to where he will end up and what the outcome of his return may be.
It seems as though the Blackhawks may be acquiring a different face, and it's not Toews. Check out the latest update below
A new update has been given on Toews' return, and it can be found below:
With Toews age being a disadvantage, 36 years old, he did not disappoint the last time he suited up for an NHL game. He is still a very productive player and has some good hockey left in the tank.
Toews recently spoke up about his opinion on coming back to the NHL. He told GQ Magazine that he is open to a possible return to the NHL.
Although the likelihood of Jonathans return to the NHL is high, his return to the Chicago Blackhawks is very slim. The Blackhawks made it very clear they were not interested in running back players, as they proved that with
Patrick Kane.
That being said, this does not mean that Toews does not have the ability to drastically improve a team. He has years of experience, great leadership abilities on and off the ice and competitive drive.
Toews could be a wonderful addition to any lucky team.
The three teams believed to be the best fit for Toews would be:
The Colorado Avalanche are still a top contender for the NHL. With a recent Stanley Cup under their belt from 2022, they are not quite as good, but they still have a winning pedigree.
Toews may have the ability to spark this team once again, with his incomparable leadership skills, another Stanley Cup may be incoming for Colorado.
The Winnipeg Jets are one of the better teams in the NHL as of recently. Despite their high rankings, the Jets aren't so strong down the middle.
As Toews has an incredible amount of experience as a center and has an immense amount of passion, taking him on could work in the Jets favour. Toews is more than capable of strengthening their offence.
Not only could this be a great opportunity for the Jets, they also happen to play their home games in Jonathan Toews' hometown. This would be an insane opportunity for Toews to win a Stanley Cup in his hometown!
The New Jersey Devils have been one of the deepest teams in the Eastern Conference as of right now. Not only do they have great goaltending, they also have immaculate forward and defensive lines.
Although Toews would have a higher chance of winning the Stanley Cup with the Devils, he wouldn't have a chance at a top-six role. With their team filled with elite offensive players, the likelihood of him being near the top of the list is slim.
