Maple Leafs Newest Head Coach To Be Announced Monday?
Brad Treliving has helped contribute to the ridiculous head coach turnover in the NHL, continuing the coaching carousel. As the attrition continues, so does the hiring as Treliving has hopped aboard the carousel to find their newest head coach.
The latest winner in this new hiring decision is rumored to be former St. Louis Blues bench boss, Craig Berube, who led the Blues to their first Stanley Cup in 2019.
Berube is a proven winner, during his short-time in the NHL despite his last season in St. Louis being less than stellar.
Berube's a natural choice for the Leafs' latest change in philosophy, as Berube's choice of grit and hard work is a change from Keefe's incapability of making adjustments when it counts the most.
Berube, a former enforcer in the NHL has been rumored as a candidate for a short period of time for the position.
It's seen as "more likely than not" the Leafs will undergo a coaching change, with Craig Berube seen as a top candidate. The Leafs are thought to prefer a coach with more experience in the head coach role.
If Berube is the newest hire in Toronto, the heavily skill-oriented style of play will change overnight. With a change in philosophy, Brad Treliving hopes to bring the Leafs sustainable playoff success past the 1st round, with an old-school mentality instead of just the run-and-gun style of hockey seen during Keefe's tenure.
