Minnesota Wild goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury proves he's worth every dollar of his newly signed contract

The Minnesota Wild brought back Marc-Andre Fleury for one more season, and it is already paying off, and it's not what you'd think.

He was informed he would not be playing against the Winnipeg Jets in the Minnesota Wild's first preseason game, and he did the unthinkable.

Fleury has been one of the most respected veterans throughout the NHL, within his 21-years of his hockey journey in the league, he has never failed to put smiles on many faces.

Fleury proved that he's a class act this past weekend following a report by team reporter Mike Russo.

Fleury reportedly decided to board the team plane to Winnipeg for their first preseason game despite not being in the lineup- which is full of rookies and the younger generation. Wild head coach John Hynes revealed it all to the media.

"That's who he is," said Hynes on Fleury. "He's a Hall of Fame goalie. He's coming on the plane, a lot of younger guys in the lineup and all of a sudden he comes on the plane, he's in the locker room, and not only that, as a backup. That's a cultural thing. And that's who he is on and off the ice."

21-year vets like Marc-Andre Fleury aren't typically asked to travel to Winnipeg for an exhibition opener when he's not even going to play

Fleury is likely to never play with the players he chose to fly with on the flight as retirement is looming after this year- which speaks to the highest of heights.
