If you've ever gone to a hockey game, you know the crowd can get pretty loud and wild as well as play a big part in how the game shifts in momentum.
A recent study found that Chicago Blackhawks fans are the most intense in the NHL.
The study by casinos.org surveyed 3,000 NHL fans in the U.S. and Canada and scored them on an "ice cold" index that measures how aggressive fans are.
Blackhawks fans topped the chart with a score of 96.9 out of 100. Avalanche fans were next, while Senators fans were at the bottom with just 5.5.
Fans were asked about things like how often they boo, cheer when players get hurt, talk trash online, and if they feel bad about their past behavior.
Blackhawks fans were especially notable for two things: more than 22% said they had fought with fans from other teamsthe highest number in the league. Almost half said they didn't feel bad about how they acted before.
Here's what counted in the "ice cold" index:
-Being in fights counted the most, making up 25%.
-Cheering for injuries and being mean, like trash-talking, each added 15%.
-Not feeling bad about being mean and not caring when the other team loses also were 15% each.
-Booing a lot and talking trash on social media were less important, each at 5%.
-How fans rated their own behavior added the last 5%.
This survey shows just how passionate Blackhawks fans are, are you one of them?
