Mark your calendars for May 7, as the lottery is set to occur at the NHL Network's studio in Secaucus, N.J., as per the league's announcement on Friday.
The sequence for choosing the first 16 picks in the first round of the 2024 NHL Draft, slated for June 2829 at the Sphere in Las Vegas, will be determined through a lottery process.
NHL Central Scouting's final rankings placed Macklin Celebrini (standout player from Boston College, & widely regarded as the most coveted prospect in the draft) at the forefront among skaters based in North America, while Anton Silayev secured the top position on the list for skaters based in Europe.
Who's participating and what are the odds?
Participating in the lottery will be teams that were not able to qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs, along with those who acquired their first-round draft selection.
