The Chicago Blackhawks management team will sit at the second overall position during the draft which leaves forward Ivan Demidov or defenseman Artyom Levshunov. It's a hard decision to make as the team needs both players to help continue their rebuilding phase.
One thing is clear, if the Blackhawks decided to choose Demidov, they will have to wait for him to return to the United States as he will be heading back to Russia to play out his final year with the KHL. Russian players tend to play out their contracts unless for special circumstances.
According to eliteprospects.com, the 18-year-old right winger is a sound puck handler with great wrists along with speed. Last season in the NHL, he played thirty games, score 23 goals with 37 assists for 60 points and was a + 47.
The Blackhawks are certainly in need of offence as they need a player like Demidov's pedigree Putting a player like this alongside Connor Bedard could do wonders for the team and boost their chances to being better offensively.
Blackhawks fans and the rest of the NHL will need to wait until June 28th at 7:00 PM when the NHL draft will begin in Las Vegas NV at the Sphere.
