With the New York Rangers in town last night, Chicago Blackhawks' fans got to see one of their former favourite players back in town. Artemi Panarin made his first visit to the United Center in a Rangers' uniform and the former Hawks' winger scored a goal and registered five shots as the Rangers beat the Hawks 6-3. The 28 year old winger took the opportunity to speak to the media and revealed that he's still completely confused about his trade out of Chicago. "When I played here in Chicago I (thought) I would play here my whole life," Panarin told the media. "And then that happened. It still confuse(s) me."When Panarin signed with Chicago as a free agent, he took a cheaper deal with the cap strapped Hawks so they could keep some veterans around. Unfortunately that would come back to bite him anyways as he was shipped out of town."I was not ready for that. It was a big surprise for me. I feel bad after trade." "I love Chicago," Panarin said. "Nice every time I come here. Enjoy it. It's a great city and thanks (to) the fans for a warm welcome. I appreciate it." Was this Stan Bowman's worst trade as Hawks' GM?
