The team has some youth that they'd like to see continue to progress, however after missing the playoffs for two years in a row, fans want to see them team in the playoffs. To help them get over the hump, Bowman could go shopping for a defenseman. Scott Powers of The Athletic reports the Blackhawks have spoken to the Columbus Blue Jackets about a possible Ryan Murray trade. Murray is a restricted free agent and is coming off an injury however set a career high in points last season with only 56 games played. Powers adds that the Blue Jackets would likely only want draft picks in return according to his fellow Athletic reporter, Aaron Portzline. The Hawks won't move their #3 overall pick, however Powers believes they'd be willing to throw in a prospect or two to package with either their second round pick and maybe one of their fourth round picks. Do you think the 25 year old could help the Hawks' blueline?
