The Chicago Blackhawks, general manager Stan Bowman and head coach Jeremy Colliton have been working hard this offseason revamping the coaching staff. They brought on former Blackhawks' defenseman Sheldon Brookbank and followed that up with bringing Tomas Mitell from overseas who's worked with Colliton before. On Tuesday, the Hawks made another pretty major announcement when it comes to their coaching staff. The Blackhawks have hired Marc Crawford as an assistant coach. Crawford has spent the last couple of seasons as an associate coach with the Ottawa Senators and took over for Guy Boucher when he was fired. The 58 year old helped lead the Colorado Avalanche to the 1996 Stanley Cup and has an all-time NHL coaching record of 556-431-182."Jeremy has an extremely bright and innovative mind and I am totally impressed by his presence and enthusiasm," Crawford said. "I know we will have a terrific relationship and my experience should benefit the entire coaching staff."
