When Brandon Saad made his return to the Chicago Blackhawks through trade before the 2017-18 season, there was hope he'd get Jonathan Toews going again. However Saad looked a bit lost on the ice and only scored 18 goals, while he did improve on that mark last year with 23 goals he still looks a bit out of place with the Hawks. At only 26 years old, it's hard to say if Saad's best years are behind him, but his time in Chicago might have come to an end. Saad doesn't carry any trade protection and has two years left on his current contract which carries a $6million cap hit per season. Craig Custance of The Athletic has labeled Saad as the Blackhawks' trade candidate this summer and one of the Top 20 around the league. It's clear that Saad is popular in the locker room, however it's yet to be seen if he's a real fit in head coach Jeremy Colliton's modern system of play. Do you think Saad will start the season in Chicago next year?
