"As the lockdown continues across North America because of the coronavirus pandemic, NHL business resumes as usual minus the games. Teams are still signing players to extensions and signing NCAA prospects to entry level contracts. We saw Chicago Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman do just that as he signed forward Matthew Highmore and goalie Kevin Lankinen to contract extensions. The Hawks GM also signed forward Evan Barratt to a three year entry level contract and forward Andrei Altybarmakyan to a two year entry level contract. One NHL insider just revealed some interesting news when it comes to the trade front. Dylan Strome is set to be a restricted free agent after this season but he doesn't seem to be in the Hawks plans for the future. NHL insider Elliotte Friedman revealed during a recent appearance on WGR550 The Instigators that the Hawks were actively trying to trade Strome and added he "doesn't think the cost is really prohibitive.".Strome put up 12 goals and 26 assists in 58 games this season before it was paused. He was acquired by the Hawks along with Brendan Perlini from the Arizona Coyotes for Nick Schmaltz.
