"The Chicago Blackhawks and general manager Stan Bowman are looking like they might make a sneaky move or two. Bowman has already landed defenseman Olli Maatta, shown interest in Blue Jackets defenseman Ryan Murray, talked to Carolina about Justin Faulk, Calvin de Haan and Dougie Hamilton while being labelled as a possible front runner to sign Jake Gardiner. The Hawks' GM has stated publicly that he expects to be busy this summer and he could land a big fish if he hits free agency. According to Mark Lazerus of The Athletic, pending free agent Joe Pavelski of the San Jose Sharks is intrigued at the idea of signing with the Blackhawks. His first option is to stay in San Jose, however after the Erik Karlsson contract, it might be really hard for the Sharks to pay him what he deserves. The soon to be 35 year old is coming off a contract that saw him earn $6million a season and just registered a 38 goal season despite his age. He could be a perfect fit alongside Jonathan Toews. Would you like to see Pavelski in a Hawks uniform?
If Joe Pavelski leaves San Jose, he would be intrigued by the idea of coming to play for Chicago Blackhawks. (Via @MarkLazerus) — Daniel Greenberg (@ChiSportUpdates) June 17, 2019
