NHL reporter Mark Lazarus didn't hold back in calling out the league for its handling of dangerous plays like the recent one involving Josh Manson's slash on Connor Bedard.
Lazarus questioned why such incidents are accepted and even glorified as part of the game, particularly when targeting star players.
"NEW: In the NHL, dangerous cheap shots like this one by Josh Manson on Connor Bedard are shrugged off embraced, even as just "part of the game." It's always open season, especially on star players. Why do we allow this? Why do we want this? "
Said Lazarus.
He raised concerns about the discipline of such actions and urged for a reevaluation of the league's stance on player safety.
