Surprising Players Have Officially Been Placed On Waivers
Sunday in the NHL was quieter than usual, with only a couple of early games due to Superbowl Sunday. Nonetheless, waiver wire action stirred some movement.
First, the Winnipeg Jets placed 29-year-old center Dominic Toninato on waivers. Toninato has recorded 5 points in 15 games this season and carries an affordable $775,000 cap hit for another year.

Next, the New Jersey Devils waived 28-year-old center Max Willman, who tallied 2 points in 13 games with the team. Willman also carries a $775,000 price tag but lacks additional contract years.
Nolan Stevens placed on unconditional waivers by the #redwings and will have his contract terminated.
However, the day's biggest waiver news came from the Detroit Red Wings, who placed 27-year-old center Nolan Stevens on unconditional waivers, signaling a contract termination after his stint with the Grand Rapids Griffins.
