Suspension to be handed out following dirty play involving Connor Bedard?
In a game between the Chicago Blackhawks and the San Jose Sharks, things got heated in the third period. Blackhawks were leading 4-2 with goals from Kevin Korchisnki, Philip Kurashev, Joey Anderson, and Ryan Donato.
However, the Sharks' defenseman Calen Addison made a questionable move against Blackhawks' player Connor Bedard. Instead of going for the puck, Addison used Bedard as a sled, riding him into the boards and on top of his torso.
Videos of the incident circulated on social media, showing the unsportsmanlike behavior. Blackhawks' forward Tyler Johnson stepped in to defend Bedard, pushing Addison away with his stick, but this may draw attention of the NHL Player Safety Committee as it appeared to be a 'spearing' motion. Both players received penalties, adding to the frustration.
The altercation happened with 7:32 left in the third period, raising concerns about the officiating in the league this season. Such incidents detract from the game's spirit and highlight the need for fair enforcement of the rules.
