The United States are already in the championship game on Thursday against Team Canada, which will be an epic rematch from the game on Saturday night.
With the USA having a seemingly unimportant game against Team Sweden tonight, the Americans have taken some extra precautions and have made some changes to their lineup.
Lineup changes for USA 🇺🇸 tonight against Sweden 🇸🇪:
Jake Oettinger starts, Jeremy Swayman backing up, Connor Hellebuyck rests.
Chris Kreider in for Matthew Tkachuk.
Jake Sanderson in for Charlie McAvoy.
All 23 roster players participate in the tournament for the Americans.
Connor Hellebuyck has been an incredible goalie for the Americans over the tournament and is getting a well earned rest with Dallas Stars netminder Oettinger coming in to tend the goal.
Matthew Tkachuk is a little banged up and Team USA made the choice to give him the day off and save him for the game on Thursday. Tkachuk was a key piece in the 6-1 win against Finland last Thursday, as he had two goals. They need him healthy, so New York Rangers winger Kreider is going to come in.
The young Ottawa Senators defenseman Jake Sanderson comes in for McAvoy to play in his first big game.
McAvoy was a big part of the game against Canada on Saturday for how he contained Connor McDavid after he scored the first goal of the game early into the first period.
McAvoy was on McDavid the whole night and laid a couple hits on him as well while keeping him in check.
With all these changes to the lineup, all 23 players on the roster for Team USA are officially going to play in the Four Nations Face-Off.
