NHL reporter addresses completed trade with Blackhawks and Lightning
Chicago Blackhawks team reporter Mark Lazerus recently commented on the completed trade between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Tampa Bay Lightning, expressing satisfaction with the outcome.
"The Brandon Hagel trade sure looks like a good one for both teams," stated Lazerus. "The Blackhawks were able to draft Oliver Moore and will have a second first-rounder this year because of it. The Lightning got one hell of a player." In the trade, Chicago received Taylor Raddysh, Boris Katchouk, a 2023 first-round pick (Oliver Moore), and a 2024 first-round pick. In exchange, Tampa Bay acquired Brandon Hagel, a 2022 fourth-round pick, and a 2024 fourth-round pick.
At the time, Blackhawks fans were sure not too pleased giving up a young Brandon Hagel, but fast-forwarding to todays roster- it couldn't have been built without tanking, which ultimately meant losing key players such as Brandon Hagel, Kirby Dach, Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat.
