Star player requests trade and organization reveals they're working on a trade
Patrick Laine requests trade from the Columbus Blue Jackets
The Columbus Blue Jackets had high praise in many reporters rankings for the 2023-24 season after having a loaded lineup of Patrick Laine, Johnny Gaudreau, Zach Werenski, Ivan Provorov and several other news acquisitions, but it suddenly fell apart early on.
And now, it appears Laine has had enough, much like Pierre Luc Dubois who requested a trade to leave Columbus.
According to Pierre LeBrun of TSN, the Columbus Blue Jackets and Patrick Laine both expressed that a fresh change of scenery would be good and are working on a trade.
Pierre LeBrun on Insider Trading reports Patrik Laine would like to move on from #CBJ and both team/agent will work together to try and get a trade done, he wants a fresh start. With Laine expressing his unhappiness in now two NHL organizations, concerns have to be rising on if he is a toxic player off-ice, with his second trade requests so quickly into his career.
