Trade completed between the Lighting and Chicago Blackhawks
The Chicago Blackhawks and Tampa Bay Lightning have become trade partners recently. With a deal or two, the teams have traded key players and futures.
One deal sent
Brandon Hagel to the Tampa Bay Lightning on March 18th, 2022 which gave way to the ongoing rebuild of the Blackhawks.
The full trade was:
Chicago received -
Taylor Raddysh, Boris Katchouk, 2023 first-round pick (Oliver Moore), 2024 first-round pick.
Tampa Bay received - Brandon Hagel, 2022 fourth-round pick (Kenny Connors), 2024 fourth-round pick.
The Blackhawks have received a 1st round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft this season and thanks to Tampa Bay being eliminated, they have been guaranteed a top-20 pick during the draft.
A top-20 pick means a quality prospect usually, which is key to the rebuild with Kyle Davidson at the helm.
The pick is also able to move up, depending upon whether or not the Vegas Golden Knights or New York Islanders advance to the conference finals.
As Golden Knights are currently tied with the Dallas Stars in their series, 2-2, while the Islanders are facing elimination.
So, Blackhawks fans should push for a Vegas Golden Knights victory against the Stars, if they want a better pick and prospect.
Brandon Hagel, played a full 82-game season for the Tampa Bay Lightning scoring 75 points( 26 G, 49 A) and 79 PIM.
