The Chicago Blackhawks have an idea of how to handle their incoming pipeline of prospects, including 2nd overall draft pick in 2024 Artyom Levshunov.

Levshunov, considered the best defenseman in the draft is a future top-pairing defenseman with a plethora of skills, coaches and GMs love.
Blackhawks AGM Mark Eaton made it sound like they'd like Artyom Levshunov to be in the AHL this season.

"If we have the ability to have him in-house and our great development staff in Rockford working with him on a daily basis to start to close that gap between where he is and where he needs to go, it's only a bonus."

Obviously, as the Blackhawks made it a priority to select him just below Macklin Celebrini.
The defenseman who can hit, shoot, and contribute to the breakout will be a great addition to the team , when he matures.
However AGM of Player Development for the Blackhawks Mark Eaton has a definitely plan laid out for Levshunov once he arrives in Chicago:
#Blackhawks assistant GM of player development Mark Eaton implied they would prefer Artyom Levshunov to turn pro and play in the AHL: "Being able to be hands-on every single day is a huge bonus. That is the line that we walk with our amateur prospects, is the realization that they all play for other coaches, they all play in different systems, so if we have the ability to have him in-house and our great development staff in Rockford working with him on a daily basis to start to close that gap between where he is and where he needs to go, I think it's only a bonus."

The scouting report on Levshunov is glowing:
The most complete defenseman in the draft, Artyom Levshunov is a physically gifted player with remarkable poise on the ice. He plays a mature, steady game, but also has the offensive skill to make plays in all zones.

It's no wonder Kyle Davidson coveted the Belarussian defenseman.
Regardless, keeping track of his development in the AHL, so he is graduated to the NHL when he's ready will be beneficial for the team, so they can get the most out of Levshunov's full skillset.
In 38 games with the MSU Spartans, he scored 35 points( 9 G, 26 A) with 44 PIMs.
