The VHL is one of the minor leagues in the Russian professional hockey system, and Pleshkov is currently playing for SKA-Neva St. Petersburg.
The VHL is the 2nd best league in Russia, and Pleshkov put on a show during the game which went to 5 overtime.
Pleshkov made an astounding 124 saves on 125 shots during the match, and despite the goalie's heroic actions, he wasn't able to win the match.
SKA-Neva St. Petersburg lost 1-0 after 5 overtimes, with Pleshkov astounding us all.
Pleshkov's .992% save percentage is impressive, the 21-year-old made a brutal 124 saves, which was enough to break the record for a professional goalie, making the most saves during a single game.
For those wondering, that is a WORLD RECORD for saves in a game ‼️

Hockey News Hub on X.com had pointed out that Pleshkov's 124 save game pushed him over previous record holder Alexander Borodulya who had stopped 107 shots, in a quadruple overtime match in 2015.
The most recent NHL record has been held by now Ottawa Senators goal-tender, then Columbus Blue Jackets goalie in 2020, Joonas Korpisalo, who made 85 saves against the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Bubble.
Pleshkov did everything he could to keep SKA-Neva St. Petersburg in the playoff hunt, as they were down 3-0 in the series, but the team could not finish the job.
The team would be eliminated from post-season play, as opposing goaltender Denis Popov saved 71 shots on goal and won with a shutout.
Pleshkov wasn't drafted by any NHL team and this performance should put his name on some GM's radar. His performance this season has been nothing but great, with a 1.97 GAA, and .926 SV%, in 10 KHL games.
While in the VHL, he had a 1.85 GAA and .943 SV% in 23 VHL games.
