Washington Capitals defensive prospect Cam Allen was arrested for drunk driving last weekend.
He has been suspended indefinitely by the OHL.
#OHL Disciplinary Action:
London Knights player Cam Allen has been suspended pending the outcome of a League review of off-ice events that occurred on Saturday, February 8th.
Allen, 20 years old, was arrested after a single car crash that was reported at around 3:20 in the morning on February 8th.
Allen fled from the scene only for the police to find Allen and his whereabouts not too long after and was arrested for a belief to have been driving under the influence and is facing multiple charges.
This decision after what happened to the Gaudreau brothers over the summer was certainly a choice as the hockey world is still mourning the tragedy.
Cam was drafted in the fifth round of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft by the Washington Capitals and is signed by them as well.
Coming into his draft year, Allen had 25 points in 62 games on the Geulph Storm of the OHL. In the same year, he played on Canada's U18 team and was the captain, as he had four assists in seven games.
He would then go on to play two more seasons with the Storm, having good years both seasons and being alternate captain.
Allen is now on the London Knights until further notice. Allen was having a good season with four goals and 13 assists for 17 points in 18 games, being one of the top defensemen in the OHL.
It's a shame that Allen did this because he possibly just ruined his hockey career, as he looked to have a bright future ahead of him, and if not his life.
