Gloves dropped at Sabres practice as Captain Rasmus Dahlin lays nasty hip check on teammate Peyton Krebs

The Buffalo Sabres named defenseman Rasmus Dahlin their new captain over the summer, taking over for Kyle Okposo.

Well, Dahlin took that vacancy, but may not be treating it as the honor like he should.

During the Sabres practice, Rasmus Dahlin landed a huge hip check on Peyton Krebs. The hip check then led to a big fight, where the players broke it up right away. But it caused a big scene.

Here's the scrum that just went on in practice between Rasmus Dahlin and Peyton Krebs.

Looks like they collided at full speed during a drill.

Teammates broke it up right away.

Meanwhile, in Chicago, their captain is Nick Foligno. Foligno is the perfect guy to have, as he took the leadership role in the locker room last year without even having the «C» on his chest.

Here's a clip from last year when Foligno and Kevin Korchinski were doing a drill in front of the net. Foligno was battling Korchinski and was demanding more out of Kevin and really getting into it. Korchinski even laid a nice little check. After the drill, Nick was thrilled, and banged his stick against the boards and fist bumped Korchinski.

Foligno last year also invited Connor Bedard over for dinner multiple times and really took him under his wing.

Foligno had the role during his time with the Columbus Blue Jackets, so he knows what it takes to be a captain. Even this year, he continues to take the young players under his wing and even said he loves his role and he wants to be here. Meanwhile in Buffalo with Dahlin, well, you struggle to say the same.
