The Chicago Blackhawks drafted Dominic James in the 2022 NHL Draft, 173rd overall, in the 6th round.
He has gotten the honor of earning the Captaincy for the UMD Bulldogs for the 2024-2025 NCAA season.
Dominic James only missed two games in 2023-2024 and as a Sophomore would score 28 points in 35 games, with the Bulldogs.
James tied for the most assists on the team, with 18 including 10 goals, of which 3 were on the power play.
James started his collegiate hockey career in 2021-2022, scoring 18 points( 6 G, 12 A) and would be drafted by the Blackhawks in the sixth, the next year.
James is an effective two-way center, who isn't known primarily for his production but is known for his penalty-kill abilities, and his strong abilities in the defensive zone.
While he's projected to be a bottom-six forward in the NHL, he's gained leadership skills which NHL GMs find attractive as well.
