The Chicago Blackhawks may have found their next piece to the puzzle in the Metropolitan Division.

That is, in Philadelphia where Elliotte Friedman has reported that the team is looking at Flyers CenterMorgan Frost.

Frost has found himself inin John Tortorella's doghouse often, even after putting up a 40-point season in 2022-2023, and 2023-2024.

There's been speculation that he'd be traded eventually, but news of him being moved is picking up fast.

The writing has been on the wall for an eventual Morgan Frost trade for some time. The 25-year-old center has been in and out of the lineup this season and certainly does not play the way that head coach John Tortorella wants to see out there on the ice. And with his numbers dwindling as he heads to restricted free agency, the Flyers might just want to move on in the middle of this transitional season.

This could be a long time coming, as Frost has tried his best to remain humble and do what he can to find a way to stick in Philadelphia, but it's obvious his time in the burnt orange is at an end.

The cost to acquire Frost would be doable for Kyle Davidson and the Hawks as they have plenty of assets to move if need be for the RFA.

With Frost also making $2.1 million as a pending RFA this year, he could be more desirable as a trade deadline deal where he could fetch high draft picks or top-level prospects. Or, if he continues to stumble, he could be someone the Flyers have to sell low on.

With Morgan Frost in the lineup, the Blackhawks could utilize someone like Philipp Kurashev as they should: on Bedard's wing.

It'd open the lineup to more flexibility and give some players breathability and a chance to play their game rather than being forced into positions, where they don't belong.

Like Joey Anderson on the 1st line anyone?

Regardless, if the Blackhawks could trade for Frost he'd fit the rebuild timeline and give him a fresh start in Chicago.

Something that the center needs, away from John Tortorella.
