This was immediately following last night's shutout by the Los Angeles Kings, which to make room for Reichel, the team has sent Zach Sanford down to the AHL.
Reichel was sent down to the AHL to find his game and confidence again, surely enough he found it quickly as he was down there for a month.
He was sent down on February 18th and helped bolster the IceHogs playoff chances, as he posted 7 points (1g, 6a) in 9 games with the team.
His call-up to the big club will be another chance for him to continue his development in the NHL.
However, he recalls when he first heard he was being sent to Rockford, how pissed off he was.
Lukas Reichel said he was «pissed off» at first about going to Rockford.
But: «The next day, I woke up and I said, I'm going to turn this around.'» Ben Pope (@BenPopeCST) March 16, 2024
He then dedicated himself to improving his game and turning his situation around and it looks like Kyle Davidson and Luke Richardson were true to their words.
The forward had been assigned to a center position this season and had been struggling only posting 10 points (3 g, 7a) in 50 games, with the Hawks this season.
Hopefully, he can carry his newly found confidence into the end of the season and help the team scoop up more wins along the way.
