The Blackhawks have given up ten goals in their last three games against the New York Rangers, New York Islanders, and New Jersey Devils. As they make their way through the Metropolitan Division, a youth movement is occurring under interim Head Coach Anders Sorensen.
A two player move is incoming as both will be activated off of the injury reserve at the same time.
While we enjoy the uptick in young, promising players like Frank Nazar and Arvid Soderblom, we're curious about the status of vets Petr Mrazek and Seth Jones.
Anders Sorensen gave Greg Boysen of CHG Sports an update on both players.
Mrazek was placed on injured reserve a week ago due to an injured left groin. To which Sorensen has let us know that the Blackhawks workhorse goalie is improving thankfully.
While defenseman Seth Jones has been out longer, with a prognosis of four weeks last we knew with a foot injury. The right foot injury was thought to have occurred when Jones blocked a shot from a Seattle Kraken player.
The Blackhawks will undoubtedly be a better squad when their top defenseman and starting goalie return to the lineup.
The defensive collapse was evident yesterday against the New Jersey Devils and the Hawks could've used the pair on the ice.
But today the Hawks will face off against the New York Islanders one more time, with a 9-19-2 record in the NHL, 8th in the Central Division of the NHL.
